A professional Actor and Teacher for the past 18 years, Neil came to Vassar by way of the Bay Area and the West Coast. Primarily a stage actor, he has performed in over 100 separate stage, film, voice-over and commercial productions in an eclectic range from Shakespearean Festivals to children's theater; from Ibsen and Coward to Kushner and Churchill; and from Claudius in Hamlet to a Cardassian Admiral in Star-Trek CD-ROMs. Since he has been at Vassar, he has been seen as Claudius once again in a post-modern critique entitled The Hamlet Project, in NYC and as The Casual Man in the Bay Area Playwright's Festival's production of Juan Gelion Dances for the Sun. Neil has also Directed, Produced or Coached/Asst. Directed over 50 productions including the Direction of a children's theater troupe at the Treehouse Theater in Philadelphia and the Big Art Chapel Celebration on Vassar College Campus. A Fight Choreographer as well, Neil received a grant last year from the Vassar Carolyn Grant Committee to pursue professional development and completed his Fight Director/Master training at Dueling Arts International in California. He has taught at Vassar College, the University of Washington, the Utah Shakespearean Lab School, the CVE program, Delatour Scout Ranch, and the National Camp School for the B.S.A.
