David Birn joined the Vassar Faculty in the fall of 1999 after teaching for nine years at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He graduated from Whitman College with a B.A. in Theater, and earned a M.F.A. in Theater Design at the Yale School of Drama. Mr. Birn has worked as a Professional Set Designer since 1981. New York credits include productions at the Theatre for the New City, the Ensemble Studio Theatre, the Irish Repertory Theatre, the Manhattan School of Music, and Circle in the Square Downtown. Regional credits include productions at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, the Minnesota Opera, the Northshore Music Theatre, the Hangar Theatre, and Syracuse Stage.
