Paul O'Connor
Paul O’Connor joined the drama dept staff as technical director in 2000. Every year he oversees the construction of scenery and props in both experimental theater spaces - approximately 6 to 8 productions a year. He occasionally designs scenery as well, notably
Into The Woods and
Glass Menagerie. A large part of Paul’s job is involving students in the creation of each production, and his crew is one of the most coveted work-study positions on campus. Paul’s interest beyond Vassar is varied and many - carpenter, artist, designer and all around indispensable handyman. Prior to his work at Vassar he has worked as a special effects designer, a scenic artist on Broadway productions at Costume Armour and he was the one man Theater program at Oakwood School from 1991 to 2000.
